Dr. Ilya Krakovsky was born in 1953 in Russia.
In 1976 he graduated medical school with honors, received his M.D. degree and was accepted for resident in general surgery.
After graduating, he specialized in vascular surgery at the Center for Vascular Surgery of the Bakulev Medical Center, in Moscow. He completed his studies in 1982.
In 1983 he received his Ph.D. degree from the same center.
In 1989 he received his degree Doctor in Medical Sciences- Dr.Sc. (the highest medical degree in the Soviet Union) from the Vishnievsky Center for Surgery in Moscow .
In 1991 he immigrated to Israel.
In 1992 he received his recognition as a vascular surgeon by the Israeli medical Between 1992 and 1998 he worked as senior vascular surgeon at the Department of Vascular Surgery of the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov) in Israel.

As of 1998 he serves as chief of surgery and deputy director of the Vascular Department on the Golda Campus of the Rabin Medical Center in Petakh Tikwa, Israel.
Dr. Krakovsky is known as a surgeon and consultant for the Clalit Mushlam medical insurance program and for many of the private insurance companies, and has conducted throughout his career more than 2000 vascular surgical procedures.
He has participated in specialized courses on advanced technologies for vascular surgery in the United States and in Germany.
